Racial Equity, Social Justice, and the beliefs that drive our work.

We regret that it took so many unforgivable acts of violence and police brutality directed toward Black people for more for White-bodied and non-Black individuals to move into action.

We regret yet more pain and violence continues to be inflicted upon our Asian and LGBTQQIA2S+ communities.

We acknowledge we live and work on the stolen land of the Cowlitz and the Lower Columbia Peoples and reinstating stolen lands must happen as one act of reparation for our Indigenous communities.

We acknowledge colonization, the system of white dominance, systemic racism and their impacts on all facets of life.  And, we recognize the complexity of the problem and state what is clear: As an LLC we acknowledge silence on these issues means complicity in their harmful and far-reaching effects therefore as an LLC we must and will hold ourselves and others accountable. Below are our stated beliefs that drive our work.

We believe...

Black Lives Matter.

We unequivocally believe that Black and Black trans lives matter.

White supremacy is terrorism.

The system of white dominance must be abolished without question.

Racism is a public health crisis.

We believe racism is a public health crisis and is in the groundwater of this nation.

Co-labor is vital.

We believe abolishing the system of white dominance requires co-labor between Black, Indigenous, and brown folx and White-bodied folx, and our work is directed as such.

Collaboration is essential.

We believe we have one strategy to address the system of white dominance in all its forms and wish to build a collaborative effort amongst other community abolitionists in order to counteract divisiveness and center the urgent work of racial equity and racial justice.

Accountability is required.

We believe we can and will hold our community members accountable.

We will continue to join you all in mourning the loss of lives cut short by hate, fear, senseless violence, and systemic racism.

We commit, as an LLC, to consistently strive to decenter whiteness and the system of white supremacy, to leverage our social capital, and use our collective voice to uplift this mission-critical work.
